Nadia Sharara MA, NCC, LPC
Hi, my name is Nadia Sharara!

I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Counseling Practice, which I got from Roosevelt University in 2022. Since 2019, I have been actively engaged in the field of therapy, initially serving as a first-time counselor at a Community Mental Health agency. This role provided me with valuable insights into diverse demographics and fueled my motivation to expand my expertise.During my final year of graduate school, I selected an internship at a rehabilitation facility specializing in addiction treatment, primarily working with male clients. Concurrently, I began my role as an elementary and middle school counselor, integrating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into my practice.
This dual experience enriched my understanding of different client needs and educational settings. Following graduation, I looked to broaden my professional experience by transitioning into residential treatment, where I assist female clients dealing with trauma, mood disorders, addictions, and eating disorders. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and I am in the process of obtaining my Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC) certifications.
Who do I work with?
I am particularly passionate about working with clients aged 14 and older who face challenges related to addiction, trauma, anger, grief, and various mood disorders, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, and substance-induced mood disorders. My goal is to provide compassionate and effective support to individuals navigating these complex issues.
What approaches do I utilize?
In my practice, I employ a range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Client-Centered Therapy. I use these modalities to collaboratively set and achieve therapeutic goals, assess progress, and tailor interventions to meet individual needs. Additionally, I incorporate psychoanalytic techniques to explore the unconscious mind, psychodynamic therapy to examine how early experiences shape current behaviors, and address underlying issues impacting present functioning.
Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous first step.
